He wanted to keep a lid on it As he read and reread the lyrics And he wasn’t satisfied with how he felt He knew it was just a matter of time Before he writes another song Today, tomorrow, next week He was hooked On the feeling of sharing intimate details with his listeners It came out in social media His mental health was everywhere He shared and he shared Until one day he said, “enough is enough” The day came sooner than he had expected And he understood That not everything had to be told From this perspective Because what he thought in a nutshell Was pathological to him But, maybe not to someone else It was silly to even consider this line of thinking Because he didn’t always know what was real and what was imaginary What was real was his breaks from reality What was real was the limitations his meds put on him What was real was the fact that he can’t have a good day Two days in a row BREAK This songwriter was living in hell But, that was okay Because that’s the way it was for many And he had been to hell many times before And he would go there, if there were such a place Before it was all said and done again All in all The message he sends Is to do your best in everything Even if it means you’re doing it alone Because at the end of the day You’re not You’re far from alone It just takes someone to recognize themselves in you Or vice-versa And that’s exactly what he thought
