Don’t overthink about it Don’t over plan it or execute it Life without you - it matters Don’t be a statistic or one of the numbers I can’t emphasize enough That some of this is tough, tough stuff And that all of it means an awful lot To the ones going through it BREAK There is a chance that you might flee And that would be - I can’t quite say it But, this message will be here for you When you’re ready to see it Or hear it Or change your perception of things Change how you feel about everything in the now And it matters how you feel about things When life isn’t so cruel When life is good in other words It may take some time to realize it But, there are days that make living life 100% worth it You just have to find your reasons to live Don’t overthink about it Don’t over plan it or execute it Life without you - it matters Don’t be a statistic or one of the numbers Don’t be a statistic or one of the numbers

The best is yet to arrive He’s on his way He’ll be here soon The best person for the job Is not who you think it is The best person is you For many a moon You held back Only to learn a better way And then one day You shared your words and music You shared your passion with us BREAK What a treat It has been great to hear what you’ve written here today A bunch of words set to music At the end of the day Your song poems or whatever you like to call them Elicit much enthusiasm Again, you’re doing great Just keep going And let us know when you’ve made another track

Remember 01:55
He got a ride To the elevator side Of a mansion That had that sort of thing He didn’t mind Being blacklisted tonight He was going He was on his way Ain’t nothing as wonderful As being a spectacle When you somehow Lose your way BREAK And in the end It won’t much matter When you’ve changed your name People will remember you
4.
His Smile 02:35
His smile Brightens up the day When everything is unusual His smile Lights up the night When everything is curious There’s just no telling Who he’ll affect With his words and music He sees no other way He has to make the most Of the day With his smile It brightens up the day When everything is unusual His smile It lights up the night When everything is curious BREAK He wants to tell it right Nearly every time That he gets the chance to And because he can He won’t look back Not once He says not ever again With his smile It brightens up the day When everything is unusual His smile It lights up the night When everything is curious With his smile

There was a teacher Who urged him to be patient Who said to him Someday you’ll find a way And beneath all his sadness The student was able to Get to a place Where a message He could relay It was a statement so moving Coupled with a good delivery That was quite extraordinary Some others did say BREAK Now the master who was Once his student Found the teacher who He’d thought had said Be patient for you Have every reason Combined with every season To do your best And make it so
6.
Sacred Space 02:26
Tonight she stood and said goodbye To the man she loved for all of time She said she would not take a break And that that would spare his feelings It’s not normal to go out like that It’s not every day you feel so sad It’s the best and the worst And all of that It’s all of your thoughts And they’re bad If you have lonesome days and crazy nights You spend your hours just half alive You spend your life locked in a shrine That no one wants to visit Yet that’s the path she plotted out For him to see his future now He had to think of a better place A better time, a better space For he is without a doubt, leaving his shrine BREAK He’ll now be going to a sacred space But, its not the same as when he held his pace With her Who pretty much called all the shots For at least tonight he will be in a sacred space At least for one night

It wasn’t such a bad thing Together we made change To do something so significant That we could remember it For all our days It started out as a cheap dare With doing things Both here and there We enjoyed the little things Both she and I She was a masterpiece And so was I A little vain and a bit wild Thinking of ourselves like this I think we gave that up along the way BREAK Seeking spirituality because it once made sense But, now it’s more along the lines of us being atheists Carving out a purpose When there didn’t seem to be one I had such a difficult time Finding my way through life

In 1974 02:06
Nineteen Seventy Four There was a mixture of politics A near ending of war There was a freedom to be had But, not easily had Not with all the political bores There was a reason to live To catch the sun’s rays And to smell the flowers that were blooming There was a reason to not say goodbye To say hello to new experiences The kind others were having BREAK Yes, you could cry in 1974 But, I’m not sure why you’d want to Reagan wasn’t even president yet
9.
A beautiful girl had walked away In the midst of us planning Our wedding day She plainly said that the thing she needed Was to be seen And to be heard But, I didn’t know how to share My feelings Or even use my words Once more I was lost Another relationship down the tube With all that it cost So I just stood there and took what she had to say To me, I guess it was just another day But, the thing was that I knew That I had to win her back I had to have her give me One more chance BREAK Fast forward to another day She was still about All the things that she had to say And so I said If this is over and we aren’t going to wed Then I thank you for your time, for loving me Even though I didn’t hear you I thank you for your time and for trusting me But, you know I can’t shake you I hope that you have a wonderful life I hope that you find what you’re looking for What’s more I hope in time that you might find Your way back to me Two weeks later She called and asked if we could meet We had coffee And she was wanting to believe In all the things I had said And all the things that she had needed She was giving me a chance, she was helping me To begin with us again

LAME 01:43
I can’t begin to tell you How lucky I was to have met you But then again, I know it’s Kind of lame I often want to show you That all I really care to do Is be there for you Again, kind of lame It’s not so crazy to suggest That with all the rest I have met and have gotten to know That you would be anything but lame And you think that we’re able Both ready and stable That we’d do good together Again, so far from lame BREAK Nothing is as easy As macaroni that’s cheesy But, now I’m getting hungry And I know, that’s not so lame I know that No matter what happens We’ve got each other’s backs To some, that might seem silly But, maybe not

If my music is helping you Tell me how If my music has guided you Don’t just say, “wow” If anything I say or do Musically-speaking Has been an encouragement Please let me know I definitely want to be there for others And I too am on a journey A journey that is unique to me It may not help you the same BREAK If you want to be a star Look somewhere else This is a place for giving back This is a place for growth You cannot have it both ways And I’m trying to be honest with you here today I’m telling you like it is Sharing what has become my ultimate truth
